WORK EXPERIENCE

06.2015 - Present : Newcastle, UK.
UBISOFT REFLECTIONS : UI ARTIST
04.2016 - 05.2017 : Junior UI Artist
06.2015 - 03.2016 : UX Designer Trainee

My role as a UX Designer and UI Artist on Tom Clancy's The Division was to create designs for next-generation consoles. Each design followed an iterative process from an early wireframe concept to final art pass following direction from leads and directors. Designs focussed on layout, visual hierarchy, iconography, motion design and usability to help validate and inform each design.

01.2015 - 03.2015 : Dundee, UK.
EVERYBODY'S GONE TO THE RAPTURE : 2D & 3D ARTIST
I created 2D & 3D assets for an exclusive PlayStation 4 title as part of the Student Art Contribution Programme. This was a programme in which students were put forward by their course leaders to produce outsourced assets. Throughout this process I received feedback from the studio’s Art Director and Creative Director.

06.2014 - 07.2014: Elgin, UK.
HUNTED COW STUDIOS : UX DESIGNER AND UI ARTIST
After winning the 48hr Moray Game Jam, our team Power Punch won a 6-week placement at Hunted Cow Studios. I was the UX Designer and UI Artist on an undisclosed title for iOS touch devices. I collaborated with other artists to ensure the visual style was consistent throughout and programmers to assist implementing UI assets into Unity.

09.2011 - 05.2015: Dundee, UK.
UNIVERSITY OF ABERTAY STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION : MEDIA & DESIGN ASSISTANT
I was the sole graphic designer of a charitable organisation responsible for designing and producing graphics for events. I successfully branded Abertay Goes Global, which was an annual event organised by Abertay University and the University of Abertay Dundee Students' Association to promote opportunities to study abroad in Europe, America and Malaysia. I was asked to come up with designs to promote the event including, the Abertay Goes Global logo design. I also designed and implemented the rebrand for the University of Abertay Dundee Students’ Association across both digital and print media. In conjunction with the rebrand I also designed the student handbook, which has 2,500 copies distributed around campus each year.

EDUCATION

09.2011 - 05.2015 : Dundee, UK.
ABERTAY UNIVERSITY : BA (HONS) WITH FIRST CLASS IN COMPUTER ARTS
I explored emerging technologies and the different aspects of UX design in order to understand the extent to which these areas can impact upon the flow of gameplay. This was achieved through case studies & user testing to identify any issues before finalising designs.

08.2009 - 06.2011 : Edinburgh, UK.
EDINBURGH'S TELFORD COLLEGE : HND INTERACTIVE MEDIA
In my final year our class was split into teams of five to build an interactive website for a game development team who studied at the college. The website contained numerous multimedia elements which included a registration and login facility. We interviewed all team members and conducted user testing at multiple stages of development to help validate and improve our designs. Our team won best design and the website was adopted by the game development team.
